Answer five practical questions about security, closing action, locking points, power operation and compression to narrow the Trailer Parts Direct locks and handles range. The finder also separates primary handles from compatible rods, tongues, striker plates and other locking-system components.
1. What security do you require?
Choose the way you want the door, hatch, compartment or toolbox secured.
2. How do you want the door to close?
Slam Shut means the latch engages when the door is pushed closed. Manual means you turn or operate the handle/latch to secure it.
3. How many locking points do you need?
Single point uses one latch/tongue. Multi-point lets one handle operate rods or additional locking points around the door. Folding T, Drop T and Whale Tail handles can be used for either single-point or multi-point locking with the appropriate tongue/rod hardware.
4. Do you require power operation?
Select Yes only if you require an electrically/power-operated locking mechanism. Power Whale Tail handles remain available for either single-point or multi-point locking.
5. Does it need a compression feature?
Select Yes if you want the lock or handle to pull the door or panel firmly against its seal as it closes. This narrows the range to verified compression-capable Whale Tail, compression cam and thumb compression lock products.
