This model is made at 400mm wide and has three shelves to provide you lots of storage space.

Everything you need to know about our slide out pantry

The Dunn & Watson extra large slide out pantry is ideal for 4WD touring vehicles or Utes. It’s designed so that you can easily access all your food on-the-go, but it’s just as useful for storing boxes of screws or other small items when you are on the job. This pantry comes with our 125kg lock-in drawer slides for added safety when you are driving or parked on a slope. It also has a full 100% extension, so that you can access everything from the front to the rear of the pantry without struggling. The extra wide pantry also has both right and left side access, a feature that increases the flexibility of it’s position in the back of your Ute or 4WD.

So if you have been struggling to find your food or small work items that are packed in a box in the back of your vehicle, installing a slide out pantry will fix all your problems. It’s easy to install and simple to use!

What’s the size of this extra large slide out pantry?

The extra wide pantry is double the size of our standard pantry. So the width is 400mm, depth is 828mm and the height is 663mm. The base is also raised to give you a 50mm lip on the front which allows for the height of the tray, canopy or substrate, but if that’s too high or too low, we can adjust this lip to suit your specifications. With access from both sides this is a very functional slide out pantry that comes with three shelves, as well as bungee cord and a lip along each shelf to ensure that everything is stowed away safely.

We also have a standard slide out pantry that’s half the width of the extra wide model at 200mm, but with the same height and depth of the extra wide pantry. This option only has access from either the right or left hand sides (you decide which option suits your needs) but otherwise it has the same dimensions as the wider version. Since it’s only half the width of the extra wide slide out pantry you won’t be able to store items that are wider than 200mm (it does have narrow shelves), which is why we designed the extra wide pantry. Also fitted with 125kg loving drawer slides, the standard model is a good option when you don’t have much space available in the back of your vehicle or you simply don’t need to store much food or supplies in the pantry.

What’s the best configuration for the extra wide pantry?

There’s really no ideal location for your pantry, you just the right amount of space. Many people place it next to the fridge, particularly if they use a drop down drawer slide for the fridge because they can access both the fridge and the pantry at the same time (the drop down sliders lower the fridge out of the way of the fully extended pantry). If you haven’t already installed another drawer system in the back of your Ute or 4Wd, then you are free to install this pantry wherever seems most convenient. It can, however, be installed to open out the back or the side of your canopy (given that you have a side opening canopy).

How to install your new pantry

Whether you purchase the extra wide or the standard pantry, there are eight holes along its base. These holes allow you to bolt the base of the pantry to your tray or other substrate ensuring that it’s fixed in place and won’t tumble around when you’re in transit. It’s pretty stable, but we do recommend that you bolt it in place for additional safety.
