Pinchweld seals

The pinchweld seals are so named because the manner in which they seal a closed door, lid or canopy is through a pinch-style functionality.

Excellent for use in canopies and toolboxes, the pinchweld large top seal will give you peace of mind knowing there’s a tight seal that is effective in keeping out unwanted water, liquid, dust, sand and dirt.

The ‘bubble’ design is available in both a top profile and side profile depending on which is better for your particular application. No matter which design you choose, you’ll be able to rest assured that you’re going to get a tight seal every time.

Seals

In addition to our large top seal, Trailer Parts Direct offers three different types of seal variants:

• Edge seals
• Top bubbled seals
• Side bubbled seals

Edge seals

The edge seals come in three different sizes: small, medium and large.
Small edge seals – these seals are suitable for thin sheets of 1.6 millimetres thickness.
Medium edge seals – this medium sized seal is perfect for sheets of a 3 millimetre thickness.
Large edge seals – the large edge seals are good for use in sheets of 4.5 millimetre to 6 millimetre thicknesses.

Notes on edge seals:

• Chequered plates require medium or large sized edge seals for effective sealing.
• Use rubber or wooden mallets to gently tighten the seal when applied.
• For tighter turns, you can make a slight cut in the edge seal.

Top bubble seals

The top bubble seal includes the classic bubble sealing feature at the top of the profile.

Available in two different sizes, the small and large top bubble seals are available from Trailer Parts Direct.

Small top bubble seal – the small size is suitable for applications 10 millimetres in diameter.
Large top bubble seal – the larger seal offers a bigger profile and includes an additional flame tip that will come down and fold over when engaged for an even better and tighter tool.

Side bubble seals

The side bubble seal is similar in design and operation to the top bubble version but has the bubble seal on the side. It’s diameter specifications are similar.

The two different sized side bubble seals are medium and large.
Medium side bubble seal – the medium seal comes with an extra leg that creates an effective gutter when sealed. This allows water to slide off and away without pooling up or seeping in.
Large side bubble seal – this sized side bubble seal comes with a second smaller bubble which offers greater compression when sealed and an even better channel for water to run off.

Which seal to use? If you’re looking for a seal for a premium application or are anticipating a lot of dust, water, dirt or moisture, the large side bubble seal is optimal. Whether you’re heading along the coast or off into the bush, it’ll stand up to any environment.

Availability of large top seals

Trailer Parts Direct provides large top seals, and all other seal types, in rolls of 50 metre lengths but these rolls can be cut.
