About the 60L sideways fridge slide

This heavy duty sideways fridge slide is designed for fridges with a capacity of 60L and over. It’s ideal for use in camper trailers, four-wheel-drives- and ute canopies. If your fridge, when installed, is too high for easy access for your kids or yourself, or if you’re unable to fully open the lids when inside your vehicle, the sideways slide is a must have. Essentially, it allows you to pull the fridge out of the vehicle and easily pivot it on a downwards tilt. Unlike the standard tilting slide, this model is designed for sideways access to the fridge. The tilting mechanism allows the height of the fridge to be dropped while allowing it to lock in place so it’s safe and easy to open the fridge and get to the contents inside.

The length of this slide is 575mm and the total width is 946mm, including both the internal width of the tray and the additional widths of the side tilting arms on either side. When you’re measuring your space and fridge, keep in mind that you need an extra 25mm to accommodate for the locking feature at the front. The width is not affected by this additional space for the locking mechanism. It’s important you properly measure your fridge size so that it fits the internal dimensions of the tray. Lifting with gas strut assistance

Unlike standard fridge slides which operate only horizontally, the tilting fridge slides come with gas struts to assist in operation. Tilting fridge slides would be very difficult to operate and open without the assistance of heavy duty gas struts, and would be almost impossible to lift. Fridges can be heavy on their own but when fully loaded with contents and food, it’s unthinkable to try and lift one without assistance. That’s where our gas struts come in. They make using your fridge slide easy. They also contrast well with the slide itself thanks to the nitro carbonised shaft and black carbon coated body.

The locking drawer slides will also stay in the fully closed position when driving, so you can rest assured there won’t be any accidents. It’s important to note that the locks only engage in the fully open and closed positions.

Sideways tilting fridge slide vs drop down fridge slide

These two slides operate differently but offer the same functionality in different situations. The drop down fridge slide range has the same lock in and lock out feature but it does not have the tilting feature. It works by dropping the fridge down 300mm from the horizontal position once you’ve pulled in forwards to full extension. The drop means you can access the fridge and its contents from a more suitable height. It can be installed on top of a drawer system or even a false floor, where neither a sideways tilting slide or even a standard pull out fridge slide would be appropriate.

The tilting fridge slide, including this sideways configuration, is an excellent solution for your vehicle but the specific application needs to be considered to ensure that it can function properly.

What if my fridge doesn’t fit the internal dimensions of the tilting slide?

The 60L sideways tilting fridge slide needs to fit the dimensions of your fridge in its internal. If it doesn’t, there are still two options.
